Evidence Based Practice for Clinicians (QUALITATIVE) – How to find the best qualitative research evidence to guide your clinical practice In-Person

Are you wondering about patient experiences and perspectives about their healthcare?  Are you interested in staff perspective about their workplace and work practices?  

Would you like to refresh your skills on how to search databases to find quality information? Learn more about what makes a qualitative paper high quality and how to use the findings to guide your practice? If so, this workshop is for you! This session is suitable for healthcare workers from any clinical background and will focus on qualitative research methods.  

This workshop is a collaboration between the CHS Library and Office of Research and Education, this session will be facilitated by a librarian with expertise in systematic literature searching and Rosalyn Stanton, a clinician, researcher and educator. 

By the end of this session you will be able to:    

  • Formulate a PICo question and design an effective search strategy    

  • Understand how to critically appraise qualitative studies   

  • Interpret results and determine clinical significance   

  • Derive clinical implications from the research and apply to practice
